The infinity of the stars Mario

The first rays of the morning sun fell through the still open skylight and bathed the interior of the motorhome in a warm, golden light. The air was pleasantly fresh, and the distant sound of Lake Garda mingled with the gentle breathing of Amber and Nathalie, who were still sleeping snuggled up to my side. I blinked tiredly and let the moment sink in for a moment. It was one of those rare moments when everything felt perfect.

Carefully, I extricated myself from her arms, taking care not to wake her, and slipped out of bed. The morning freshness greeted me as I left the camper van and made my way to the campsite’s sanitary facilities to take a refreshing shower. The warm drops of water helped me to feel awake and revitalized, while my thoughts were still revolving around the events of the last few days. I could hardly believe how much we had experienced together.

When I returned, the sun was already shining brightly in the sky and the first sounds of the day filled the square. I stepped into the motorhome, where Amber and Nathalie were slowly waking up. They blinked sleepily, but their smiles showed me that they were already full of anticipation.

“I’ll be off again in a minute to get breakfast”, I said quietly.

After a while, I returned with fragrant bread rolls and croissants. The smell of fresh pastries filled the motorhome and we enjoyed our breakfast together. Amber and Nathalie laughed as we ate together and I could see how much they were enjoying the moment. It was a simple moment, but one that would be etched in our memories.

After breakfast, I took a deep breath. I was about to explain that I would be out for a few hours, but before I could even start, the two of them beat me to it.

“Have a nice day, Mario”, Nathalie said with a gentle smile.

Amber nodded and added: “We know you can’t be with us all day. And that’s okay. You’ve already given us more life and a feeling for life than we ever dared to dream of.”

Her words struck me deeply. I could only smile and nod gratefully before setting off.

It was late afternoon when I returned and sat in the driver’s seat without a word. I started the engine and left the campsite. Amber and Nathalie didn’t ask any questions. They knew by now that another beautiful moment was waiting for them.

After a short drive, I stopped at a small parking lot. “I’ll be right back”, I said and disappeared briefly. A few minutes later, I returned with several boxes from which a tempting aroma of fresh pizza was wafting. I drove on until we arrived directly on the shores of Lake Garda.

I opened the side door of the camper van, but initially just took a large blanket and disappeared for a moment. Then I returned and lifted Amber and Nathalie out one after the other. I gently placed them on the blanket spread out on the shore of the lake. The sun was already slowly sinking towards the horizon, bathing the water in golden colors.

I put a summer hat on each of them and opened the boxes of hot, fragrant pizza. I took out three wine glasses and a bottle of red wine. We sat there together, taking in the moment, enjoying our food and wine as dusk fell over the lake. The colors of the sunset were reflected in the water and it felt as if the world stood still for us.

When we had finished, I got up briefly to dispose of the pizza boxes. When I came back, I paused. Amber and Nathalie were sitting close together, gazing into the sunset. Nathalie had her arm around Amber and was talking to her quietly.

“Now I understand what you meant back then, Amber”, she said with a gentle smile. “Mario is a wonderful person who doesn’t just see us as a doll. We live with him. Here we are allowed to BE. Here, doll magic can work freely. Here we can be friends freely. And Amber… that’s what you are to me. I’m happy to have you as my best friend.”

My heart tightened, overwhelmed by her words. I stood there motionless for a moment, feeling the happiness flowing through me. Then I sat down with them, picked up my glass and we spent the evening under the starry sky on the shores of Lake Garda. The twinkling of the stars - and the way they were reflected in the now still waters of the lake as I sat arm in arm with Amber and Nathalie, soaking up the perfection of our shared happiness… suddenly doll magic was not only palpable, but also visible.

It was already deep into the night when I carried Amber and Nathalie back to the motorhome. They were tired, but their faces were still beaming. We drove back to the campsite at a leisurely pace and lay down together again in the big bed. The stars twinkled above us through the open skylight and the cool night air flowed gently through the room. We made love under the infinity of stars above us. And in the tail of a passing shooting star, we also experienced our climax together, which flowed through our bodies, warm and electrifying.

I held them both in my arms and whispered: “I love you.”

They snuggled closer to me and we fell asleep in complete contentment.

The next morning, we enjoyed one last breakfast together. While we ate, I finally said what was inevitable.

“All beautiful moments come to an end at some point. Even our vacation.”

Amber and Nathalie looked at me, but there was no sadness in their eyes. They smiled because they knew that the memories of those days would stay with them forever.

We made our way back together. As on the outward journey, we stopped several times so that both Amber and Nathalie could enjoy the ride in the passenger seat. The landscape passed us by, the sun accompanied us on our journey and the feeling of freedom and happiness resonated in every movement of the motorhome.

It was already night when we arrived home. Amber and Nathalie were completely exhausted from all their experiences and fell asleep straight away. I, however, stayed in the living room for a while, poured myself a glass of whisky and reflected on the past few days.

I quietly played some music - Liebestraum by Liszt. The soft piano sounds filled the room as I stood there lost in thought. I remembered Amber’s first evening when she was here for the first time, still full of uncertainty and yet so full of life. Back then it was also a dream of love that rang through the room - back then it was the beginning of everything. And now, after this journey, it sounded again, this time as the soft melody of a perfect memory.

After a while, I got up, emptied my glass and went into the bedroom. I slipped under the covers, felt the familiar warmth of Amber and Nathalie and let myself sink into a deep, restful sleep. Happy. Completely.
