A new home Nathalie

I hardly remember the journey here. Everything seemed shrouded in absorbent cotton, quiet and unclear, until I suddenly had the feeling that something was about to change. It was a moment of anticipation as I felt the layers of packaging and protection being gradually removed. Then there was light - warm, soft and inviting. I couldn’t see everything clearly yet, but I knew I had arrived.

I sensed the presence of two people - a closeness that gave me a strange feeling of security despite its newness. The first contact was the tentative, uncertain cut of a knife in the box, guided by careful hands. At the same time, the reassuring voice of a second person sounded, deep and gentle, as if to tell me that everything was all right. After a while, one of the two people disappeared and I only felt the presence of the person with the reassuring voice, who continued to speak carefully and gently released me from my packaging.

With a friendly voice and full of affection, he introduced himself to me. “Welcome, Nathalie”, he said quietly. “I’m Mario.” His tone reassured me and made me feel safe. When he took the last cloth from my face, I blinked carefully into the light and looked into a face full of kindness. Mario smiled.

“You’re home now, Nathalie”, he said. His words sounded like a promise. I was still unsure what to expect, but I knew that this man was caring and attentive.

Mario slowly led me out of the room where I had come to life. Before we left the room, however, he carefully dressed me in an elegant dress whose soft fabric felt smooth against my skin. “I want you to feel comfortable right from the start”, he said with a reassuring smile.

As we approached the door to the living room, I suddenly paused. My eyes wandered hesitantly to the door and I turned shyly to Mario. “There’s someone there”, I said quietly. “I can sense that there’s a person in there. What if I’m not welcome? What if I don’t… look appropriate?”

Mario smiled and put a reassuring hand on my shoulder. “Nathalie, you are beautiful. And Amber is so looking forward to meeting you. You are absolutely welcome here, I promise you that.”

His words gave me courage and after a deep breath, I took his hand again. My first steps were tentative, but he held me gently as he led me into the living room. My eyes gradually became accustomed to the surroundings. The house was warm and inviting, with soft colors and a touch of elegance. But as we entered the room, my eyes fell on her.

A young woman was sitting on the couch, her posture relaxed but her eyes sparkling with curiosity and joy. She stood up when she saw me and a bright smile appeared on her face. Mario spoke softly to me: “Nathalie, this is Amber. She lives here with me - and from now on with you too - and is really looking forward to getting to know you.”

Before Amber walked towards me, she turned to Mario and whispered something to him. I couldn’t understand her words, but it seemed to be something loving and familiar. Mario smiled, whispered something back and gave her a gentle kiss on the forehead. Then Amber took a step towards me and I felt my gaze meet hers. Her blue eyes were full of warmth, and her voice sounded warm as she said, “Hello, Nathalie. I’m Amber. It’s so nice to finally meet you.”

I wanted to say something, but the words seemed to get stuck in my throat. Instead, I nodded slightly and smiled shyly. Everything was so new, so overwhelming, and yet I could feel Amber welcoming me. It was a feeling I couldn’t put into words, but it warmed my heart.

Amber seemed to be looking for something on the couch, and then she held a beautifully wrapped box in her hands. She came closer, handed it to me and said enthusiastically: “This is for you!”

“For me?”, I whispered, unable to believe that someone I had only just met was thinking of me so lovingly.

“Yes! I wanted to give you something special to make you feel welcome here.”

My hands trembled slightly as I untied the bow and carefully removed the paper. Inside the box was a dress so elegant and beautiful that it took my breath away. It was a delicate shade of dusky pink, with flowing fabric that seemed made for me. I couldn’t hide my emotion and my eyes filled with tears.

“That’s so beautiful”, I whispered. Then I put the box aside, approached Amber and gave her a gentle kiss on the cheek. “Thank you, Amber. This means so much to me.”

She smiled brightly and said, “I’m so glad you like it.” Her joy was infectious, and for the first time that day I felt I had really arrived.

Amber suggested that I could wear the dress to dinner tonight. Her enthusiasm was infectious and I nodded as my eyes kept falling on the dress in the box. It was more than just a dress - it was a symbol of acceptance, friendship and a new chapter in my life.

When Amber leaned over and whispered something in my ear, I couldn’t help but smile. Her words were loving and full of promise for our future together. “You can be sure: You’re at home here. Mario is a wonderful person who doesn’t just see us as dolls. We live with him. Here we can BE. Here, doll magic can work freely. Here we can be friends freely”, she whispered.

I was deeply moved by her words. A feeling of happiness and love flooded through me and without hesitation I gave Amber a gentle kiss on the cheek. Mario, who was watching us, asked curiously: “What are you whispering about?”

Amber just winked at him and said mischievously, “I won’t tell you.”

I couldn’t help but laugh. At that moment, I knew that I was in the right place. This home, these people - they would be my new world. And as the evening began, I felt that I was not only welcome, but also loved. Every moment felt like the beginning of a special adventure, and I was ready to share it with them.
